Berlin Geekettes is delighted to announce it will be hosting a ‘Women in Tech’ panel at Campus Party Europe. Hosted by Jess Erickson, founder of Berlin Geekettes, the panel will feature a cross-section of women from the Berlin tech scene. With entrepreneurs and company founders Zoe Adamovicz of Xyologic and Daniela Schiffer of Changers, alongside Caroline Drucker, Etsy Germany Country Manager and Ruby on Rails developer Joan Wolkerstorfer of Mediapeers, each woman brings a unique perspective to the panel discussion. Support and watch the Berlin Geekettes panel on August 23rd, from 11am to 12 pm at the Social Media stage.
More Berlin ladies will be speaking at Campus Party Europe, including Stefanie Hoffmann, cofounder of Luoi Apps which recently launched the iOS application Gabi, and Tiffany Conroy, front-end developer and interactive designer at Soundcloud. Lydia Pintscher of Wikimedia Germany will be discussing free software, while Creative Commoner and Berlin resident Michelle Thorne of Mozilla will also give a talk. Berlin Geekette from Lübeck, Nicole Simon, will be discussing social media. Caroline Drucker, Daniela Schiffer and Joan Wolkerstorfer of the Berlin Geekettes ‘Women in Tech’ panel are also scheduled to give individual presentations. There’s also the opportunity to learn Ruby on Rails with a workshop by Rails Girls Berlin.
Campus Party Europe is will be held at Tempelhof from 21st to 26th August, just six weeks away. An annual, week-long, 24-hours-a-day technology festival, the conference will bring together 10,000 hackers, developers, gamers and geeks. Key speakers include the inventor of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, with a comprehensive lineup covering everything from astronomy, nanotechnology and gaming, to software, design, and entrepreneurship.
